PhD thesis Suzanne Merkus: Recovery from extended day and night schedules

February 24th, researcher Suzanne Merkus (Public & occupational Health) succesfully defended her thesis titled: ''Recovery from extended day and night schedules.'' In her thesis she studied the effect of working in shifts (day and night) on the health of the employees. She concluded that it is important to took enough days off to recover from a period of 12-hour working in day and night shifts.
