Ilse  Reinders

Since 2011, Ilse has been working as a junior researcher at the VU University, department of Heath Sciences. After that, she has been working on her PhD Project about muscle composition in relation to health outcomes among elderly. Currently she is working as a post-doctoral researcher at the section Dietetics and Nutrional Research at the VU Medical Center.



2012 - 2016   PhD-program: VU University and the EMGO+ Institute, Amsterdam

The focus of her dissertation is about body composition and health related outcomes among elderly. She used data from several prospective cohort studies, such as the AGES-Reykjavik Study and the Health ABC Study. During her PhD program she worked at the National Institute on Aging (NIH).


2011-2012     Junior Reseacher: VU Univeristy and the EMGO+ Institute, Amsterdam

From August 2011 till September 2012, she worked as a junior researcher at the Institute of Health Sciences, department Nutrition and Health at the VU University in Amsterdam.


2009 -2011     M.Sc Health Sciences, VU University Amsterdam, master in nutrition and health

During her masters she did a 5-month internship in Kuopio, Finland where she wrote her article entiteld: The association of serum n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids with C-reactive protein in men.
