Determinants of children's sedentary behaviour and their perspectives on physical activity and movement friendliness: a concept map

Within this project three subprojects will be carried out, by performing concept mapping meetings with children, parents or adolescents.

  • In short, the first project examines children's and parent's perspectives on children's sedentary behavior. Why do children engage in sedentary activities and what are the most important reasons for engaging in these activities?
  • The second project focusses on children's perspectives on physical activity. The children themselves examine all activities in which they are active. In addition, the frequency and intensity of the different activities will be studied.
  • Lastly, the third project focusses on adolescents perspectives on the movement friendliness of the physical environment. When is a physical environment perceived as a movement friendly environment, and what are the most important aspects that make an environment movement friendly?
