Bette Loef (1993) works as a PhD student at the Department of Public and Occupational Health and the EMGO Institute of the VU University Medical Center and at the Centre for Nutrition, Prevention and Health Services at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). She studied Health Sciences at the VU University Amsterdam and obtained her master’s degree (cum laude) in 2015. In July 2015, she started her PhD research on the health effects of shift work. The aim of this project is to study the effects of shift work on body weight and infection susceptibility and the mechanisms underlying these health effects.
