Anne  Lever

Anne Geeke Lever is a psychologist and post-doctoral researcher at the department of Psychiatry at the VU University Medical Center and GGZ inGeest in Amsterdam.


Since March 2016 she is involved in the PReDicT project, led by Dick Veltman (VUmc), Anneke van Schaik (GGZ inGeest), and Eric Ruhe (UMCG). This EU Horizon 2020 funded study is carried out in five European countries and examines the effects of using emotion recognition in guiding antidepressant treatment of depressed patients. 


She defended her PhD thesis in May 2016 at the University of Amsterdam. In her PhD project, she investigated aging in autism spectrum disorders. More specifically, she studied symptomatology, co-occurring psychopathology, and cognitive functioning across the adult lifespan (promotor Hilde Geurts, copromotor Richard Ridderinkhof). To further increase her knowledge on aging, she visited the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, Germany, in 2014. 


Her research interests include psychopathology, emotion recognition, cognitive functioning, aging, individual differences.
