Froukje Takens is a PhD candidate at the Department of Public and Occupational Health of the EMGO+ Institute for Health and Care Research at the VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam in collaboration with the Public Health Service of Amsterdam (GGD).

Following a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Health, Froukje completed her Masters in Health and Society at Wageningen University and Research Centre in 2016.

Currently, Froukje is working on a PhD evaluating the Jump-in project; an intervention encouraging exercise and healthy nutrition at primary schools in Amsterdam. She will evaluate the effect of the project on eating behaviour of children in schools and at home. Does healthy school food policy affect the consumption of water, sweetened beverages, fruits, vegetables, snacks and whole wheat bread? Additionally, the implementation process will be evaluated in order to optimize the program.
