A.B.  Witteveen

Dr. Anke B. Witteveen (PhD) is a postdoctoral researcher at the department Midwifery Science APH and AVAG at the VU medical center. She combines work as a researcher-epidemiologist with lecturing in perinatal psychology and research methodology and coordinates research internships of students at the Academie Verloskunde Amsterdam en Groningen (AVAG). Until 2011, she was also clinically working as GZ-psycholoog BIG (currently not practicing) at, respectively, VUmc (department of medical psychology) and AMC Psychiatry (division anxiety disorders-psychological trauma).

Research topics:

Perinatal psychology: antenatal anxiety and depression, maternal bonding and peri- and postpartum mental health outcomes.

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following childbirth.

Neuroendocrine aspects of maternal mental health (e.g. PTSD, anxiety).
