SUPRANET GGZ, PhD -project:

The Dutch multidisciplinary guideline for suicidal behavior has been implemented insufficiently in specialist mental health care. A strong mutual ambition to prevent suicide mortality should improve the application of multidisciplinary practice guidelines for the assessment and treatment of suicidal behavior in specialist mental healthcare. The SUPRANET program is a national confidential learning network of fourteen mental health institutions in the Netherlands. Participating institutions develop and share best practices and collect relevant data in order to improve care for suicidal patients and significantly reduce suicide mortality.

The purpose of the proposed study is to investigate the activities of SUPRANET Care by examining its feasibility, meaning and impact on suicide rates in mental health settings. The study is a focused implementation study of multidisciplinary practice guidelines and mutual self-evaluation and feedback.
