ANNA is an acronym for ‘Antibiotic prescribing and Non-prescribing in Nursing home residents with signs and symptoms Ascribed to urinary tract infection’. In the ANNA study, she evaluates whether the use of an urinary tract infection (UTI) treatment algorithm results in a reduction of antibiotic prescribing for nursing home residents with suspected UTI, without negative consequences for patient wellbeing.

Jeanine studied Medicine at the faculty of Medicine of Utrecht University. After obtaining her degree in 2014, she worked, among other things, as a doctor in a geriatric department in a hospital. In March 2017, Jeanine started with a postgraduate elderly care specialty training in Amsterdam. From October 2017 onwards, she combines this training with a PhD program including the ANNA project.
