Personal informationKarin Proper Works as senior researcher at the Department of Public and Occupational Health and the EMGO Institute of the VU University Medical Center.
In 1997, she obtained a MSc in Human Movement Sciences with a specialisation in Work & Health. Afterwards and during her PhD study, she followed the Postgraduate Epidemiology Programme of the EMGO Institute and the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the VU University Medical Center. From 2000 until 2003, she wrote her PhD thesie entitled "Effectiveness of worksite physical activity programmes". Since finishing her dissertation, she continued working as a researcher in the field of lifestyle, health and work.
At the Department of Public and Occupational Health of the VU University Medical Center and Body@Work, Research Center on Physical activity, Work and Health, she is currently involved as a supervisor or projectleader in diverse PhD projects as to the (cost-)effectiveness of lifestyle interventions among (older) workers.
