Ellen Driessen (1982) graduated cum laude in clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology at the University of Amsterdam in 2005. In 2013, she obtained her Ph.D. cum laude at VU University Amsterdam for the dissertation Short-term psychotherapy for depression. Broadening the field of efficacy research.. In addition, she completed the clinical training program for Dutch licensed mental health care psychologists in 2015.

Currently, Ellen Driessen is a post-doctoral research associate at VU University’s department of Clinical Psychology, where she combines research and teaching. She aims to improve care for depressed patients by means of high-quality scientific research concerning the efficacy of treatments for depression, their moderators and mediators.
